The Powder Coating Institute announced its 2022 Board of Directors and Executive Officers.

PCI says it values the support of its member companies and is fortunate to have the leadership of the following individuals:

  • President: Chris Merritt, general manager, Gema USA, Inc.
  • Vice President: Shelley Verdun, business manager, powder coatings – Americas region, PPG
  • Secretary/Treasurer: Tom Whalen, vice president sales & marketing, TCI Powder Coatings
  • Past President: John Cole, president, Parker Ionics

PCI Executive Director Kevin Coursin also recognized three newly-elected board members: Bob Cregg, business director North America, Covestro Coating Resins; Marty Sawyer, CEO, Trimac Industrial Systems; and Mark Ziehm, senior technology manager, Henkel Corporation. 

“We greatly appreciate their commitment to serve our industry in this new capacity and welcome the fresh perspectives they will bring to the board’s efforts,” Coursin says.

In addition, continuing to serve on the Board of Directors for 2022 are: Greg Dawson, senior sales leader, Nordson Corporation; Rick Gehman, president, Keystone Koating; John Sudges, sales manager, Midwest Finishing Systems; and Mike Withers, architectural segment leader, Axalta Coating Systems. 

“Their dedication over the years benefits the powder coating industry on every level,” Coursin says.

Formed on May 1, 1981 as a non-profit organization, the PCI represents the powder coating industry, promotes powder coating technology and communicates the benefits of powder coating to manufacturers, consumers, and government.  PCI works to advance the utilization of powder coating as an economical, non-polluting and high-quality finish for industrial and consumer products.
