Germany’s Helling & Neuhaus is regarded as a center of excellence for contract galvanizing and coating.
It is part of the Europe-wide Seppeler Group, and the main challenges for this kind of business are very tight deadlines and customer requirements that go way beyond DIN standards.
Because customers expect both reliable protection for parts and an aesthetically pleasing coating.
With the range of colors growing and the list of customer requirements getting longer, the production processes needed to be restructured. This meant installing some new application and cabin technology in a new building at the company’s headquarters in Gutersloh.
In order to coat as wide a range of parts as possible, the EquiFlow color-change system from Gema has especially large openings. The OptiCenter OC08 with injectors was first used at the Helling & Neuhaus facility. Combined with the CM40 control system, the new coating system offers a very high level of automation.

- 2 x ZA07-23 / XT10-10 reciprocator
- 1 x BigBag for wasted powder
The new technology makes life much easier for coating personnel as all processes are clearly set out and documented. Coating quality has improved significantly compared with the old systems, and all coating processes can be reproduced at any time. The process documentation is a big plus too, with its great volume and depth of information. This makes it possible to track all work steps over a long period, which is particularly useful in relation to warranty claims.
Helling & Neuhaus had set itself a target of becoming a better-than- average performer in future with its contract coating. Thanks to the new powder-coating system from Gema, this ambition has been achieved with ease.
