How did you get your start in the finishing industry?

MacDermid exhibited at a career fair at Bucknell during my senior year. I interviewed with them both on campus and then at MacDermid’s headquarters in Waterbury, CT. I was offered a job as a research chemist in their Electronics Solutions division. After working in research for 5 years I left to teach high school chemistry for two years. In 2007 I came back to MacDermid on the Industrial Solutions side of the business and have been involved in decorative finishes ever since.

What do enjoy best about the industry?

I like that it’s a pretty small world – it gives us the chance to get to know each other well. I also appreciate all the collaboration we can partake in on some of the key topics that are critical to the industry.

My son Christian. He was born severely premature (29 weeks) and had to fight so many times to stay alive. At 6 years old he is the strongest and most resilient person I know. He amazes me.
